Medical imaging is often a core element in healthcare decisions. Today, many aspects of imaging occur at the point of care — at the location where the patient is receiving care.
Hyland solutions provide the interoperability required to capture and manage images acquired at the point of care as well as the ability to access and view those images.
Why are solutions needed to manage point-of-care images?
Nearly three-quarters of today’s medical images are in non-DICOM format — and more are added every day. Health systems must find a way to store those images and provide clinicians with easy, secure access across the enterprise. Did you know that:
What is point-of-care imaging?
Point-of-care images are taken at the location where a patient is receiving care, rather than in a fixed imaging setting like a radiology department. Point-of-care images can be captured by a medical device, like a point-of-care ultrasound, visible light such as endoscopy or surgery as well as photo/video capture with consumer equipment like smartphones and tablets.
