Growing volumes of paper and other external records from patients, vendors and new employees were time-consuming and costly to process, and adversely impacted efficiency and the satisfaction of employees and patients. The solution
Sharp HealthCare selected Hyland OnBase™ to unite content across the enterprise and integrate it for use within core system workflows, including electronic health records (EHRs), enterprise resource planning (ERP), and other business and clinical applications.

The results
Sharp automated more than 150 workflows to benefit employee efficiency within 54 departments, both clinical and non-clinical.
The new system enabled a 26% reduction in staffing, sped batch processing from hours to minutes, increased capacity and improved the ability to secure early payment discounts through AP automation.
The healthcare group digitized patient forms and discharge instructions to improve patient satisfaction, protect patient privacy and save staff time scanning paper forms.
Sharp HealthCare accelerated clinical access to patient records originating outside of its organization, speeding care decisions.
The healthcare group also reduced storage costs and prevented lost revenue via the electronic capture of advanced beneficiary notices.
