The Hyland Innovation Awards — a cornerstone of our annual CommunityLIVE conference — celebrate the remarkable achievements of our customers. This program isn't about theoretical possibilities, it’s about recognizing organizations that are actively pushing the boundaries of what's possible with content intelligence and automation. The awards put a spotlight on the builders and problem-solvers who are delivering bold, future-forward results and setting new standards for their industries.

This move unlocked scalable insights, improved accuracy and accelerated customer service, setting a new standard for intelligent automation.

• University of Rochester Medical Center — Impactful
  URMC leveraged Hyland’s enterprise imaging and content solutions to unify patient records and streamline workflows, enabling faster clinical decisions and improving care delivery across multiple specialties.

• Manulife — Transformative

DevCon Hackathon: accelerating developer productivity

Innovation thrives when a community comes together to build. At our recent DevCon Hackathon, 30 participants collaborated on eight distinct projects, demonstrating the power of focused, hands-on development.

The event highlighted how quickly dedicated teams can turn ideas into practical tools and applications that solve real business challenges:

• Developer Tutorial for Alfresco Repository: A refreshed and updated guide to help new developers get up to speed quickly.

• Alfresco JS Root Objects Collection: A project designed to simplify and streamline JavaScript development.

• AutoCAD Drawing Transformation & Evaluation: An innovative tool for processing and evaluating complex design files.

• Node Replayer for Version Rearrangement: A solution to provide greater flexibility in managing content versions.

• Web Application to Start APS Processes: A user-friendly interface to initiate Alfresco Process Services workflows.

• OnlyOffice Support for ADF: An integration that enables collaborative editing and enhances the functionality of the Application Development Framework (ADF).

These deliverables are more than just code; they represent new capabilities. From bridging gaps in developer tooling to enabling new use cases like AutoCAD transformation, the Hackathon proved how a dedicated community can rapidly accelerate progress across the Hyland Alfresco ecosystem. 

The Agentic AI Throwdown: making AI accessible

One of the most exciting frontiers in technology is the rise of agentic AI.  

At CommunityLIVE 2025, Hyland customers participated in an Agentic AI Throwdown, where they used our low-code Agent Builder to create specialized Enterprise Agents. This initiative demonstrated how teams can rapidly design, build and deploy AI agents using intuitive, point-and-click interfaces — wherever teams tackle real problems with the right tools.

Agentic AI matters because it democratizes the power of artificial intelligence. Instead of relying on centralized IT teams to develop complex models, business users can now create agents tailored to their specific needs. This dramatically accelerates the pace of innovation and ensures that solutions are built by the people who best understand the problem.

The agents created at the event ranged from practical business solutions to fun, creative applications: 

• Purchase Invoice Agent: This agent validates invoices for accuracy, checking details like seller information, dates and totals to prevent errors and ensure compliance.

• Document Redactor Agent: A crucial tool for governance, this agent automatically redacts personally identifiable information (PII), financial data and other sensitive content.

• Claim Review Agent: Designed for the insurance industry, this agent extracts structured vehicle and damage details from unstructured claim forms, accelerating processing times.

Participants also built lightweight agents like a Joke Agent and a Seasonal Flowers Agent showcasing the solution’s versatility. Whether automating tasks or exploring new possibilities, Enterprise Agents unlock real value: greater accuracy, stronger compliance, better service and significant time savings. 

Beta program updates: what’s new and next

Our commitment to innovation is a continuous journey.

Our upcoming beta programs will continue to push the boundaries of intelligent content management. Key themes will include advancements in responsible AI, further enhancements to our content intelligence capabilities and new benchmarks for cloud-first performance and scalability.

Pushing the limits, we delivered 13 user-facing beta programs in 2025, with a 67% acceptance rate of testers investing time and innovating with our product management team.
