13:30 | 14:15 | BREAKOUT SESSION GROUP 2 - HEALTHCARE Why Intelligent Automation Matters in Healthcare Informatics | "Healthcare doesn't have an information problem. It has a context problem." "Today, how much time do your clinicians spend looking for information rather than caring for patients? What if every referral arrived complete, every document was automatically understood, and every clinician started with the full patient story instead of an 80-page PDF?" | Vinitha Ramnathan SVP, Industry Solutions Product Management Hyland | |
14:15 | 15:00 | BREAKOUT SESSION GROUP 2 - HEALTHCARE Building a Connected Clinical Imaging Ecosystem | This session will showcase Metro North Health’s large-scale transformation of clinical image management, powered by Hyland’s Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA). Managing over 4 billion images across 13.5 million studies and 1.3 petabytes of data—growing by more than 193 terabytes annually—Metro North has established a highly scalable and integrated imaging ecosystem. By leveraging Hyland VNA and the NilRead universal viewer, the organisation delivers secure, rapid access to images for more than 18,000 users and supports critical statewide initiatives such as the Queensland Health Virtual Stroke Service and Statewide Cardiology Information System. A key enabler of this transformation is the integration of more than 150 Patient Administration Systems into a single Enterprise Master Patient Index, ensuring consistent and accurate patient identity across workflows. With browser-based and remote-access viewing capabilities, and seamless publishing to the State Clinical Data Repository, this session will demonstrate how Metro North has created a unified, multi-disciplinary imaging environment to support improved clinical access and decision-making across Queensland. | Dr. Jason Brown Chief Digital Health Officer Metro North Health Dr Jason Brown is a highly experienced burns and general surgeon and is currently the Director of Queensland’s Adult Burns Service at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Chief Digital Health Officer for Metro North Health.
