Building your X factor No. 3: The power of partnership
Just as Xander never stops practicing, we need to continue innovating. Because to be No. 1, you have to be the best.
In the business world, being the underdog isn’t necessarily a good thing. You might have the greatest products and services, but if no one knows about you, it makes it more difficult to win.
So, a few years ago, as part of our mission to be No. 1 in content services, we enlisted pro golfer Xander Schauffele, who the PGA currently ranks at No. 6 (as of January 2023), as our brand ambassador.
Back when we first formed our partnership, Xander was far from a household name. Much like Hyland, he was doing amazing things on the golf course, defeating better-known competitors, and offering a comprehensive game from tee to green. So he was the perfect choice as our brand ambassador.
After all, while we’ve been successful and have grown tremendously over the last 30 years, some people had still never heard of us.
“We too felt like the underdog,” said Ed McQuiston, chief commercial officer at Hyland. “We liked the idea of partnering together with Xander to help us both lose our status as underdogs.”
And it’s working. But just as Xander never stops practicing, we need to continue innovating. Because to be No. 1, you have to be the best.
The power of partnership
In our world, that means helping our customers shed their underdog rankings with cutting-edge technology like robotic process automation, the cloud, and intelligent automation. It’s all about giving our customers quick, easy access to the information they need to make the most informed decisions and provide the best service.
At Hyland, we’ve always taken the concept of partnership seriously. It’s one of our core values. In fact, we take it so seriously, we even consider our customers as partners. That’s why we’ve always included customer requests in our software updates. Because when they win, we win.
Simply put, without our varied partners, we wouldn’t be where we are today – a leader in content services.
Alas, in the 2021 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles succumbed to the No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks. But the Razorbacks lost to the No. 1 Baylor Bears. Thus proving there’s something to this whole ranking thing.
Apparently, a fearsome mascot helps too. I’m thinking the Hyland Hippos has a good ring to it.
We hope you’ve enjoyed the building your X factor series. And we wish Xander good luck at The 2021 Masters Tournament, starting this Thursday!
