Corporate Social Responsibility
We are a global community
It’s our privilege to forge meaningful, long-term ties with the customers, partners, students, educators and nonprofit organizations that help to shape our vision and values. These relationships make us who we are: An engaged global workforce dedicated to our Core Values.
Inspiring careers in technology
Education can change the world. That’s why Hyland is committed to bridging the technology gap, especially for students who may not otherwise have access to the opportunities to build these skills. Through initiatives like our Tech Outreach programs and the Hyland Fund, Hyland strives to foster a diverse, innovative future for all.
What our Tech Outreach students have to say:
Hyland’s ongoing partnership with St. Martin de Porres offers weekly training to 400 students in Cleveland, Ohio.
“We are thankful for Hyland’s 13 years of commitment to Saint Martin and our Corporate Work Study Program. Providing OnBase training to our students will not only expose them to the growing STEM field, but also provide them with technical skills to navigate database systems in any future career. This expanded partnership highlights how Hyland is committed to youth STEM education and invested in organizations working to address systemic racial inequities in Cleveland.”
Hyland participates in Computer Science Education Week with TECH CORPS, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring students have access to computer science programs.
“With Hyland’s help, we will deliver engaging lessons to thousands of students around the world. Hyland’s support over many years has helped us pursue our mission of ensuring K-12 students have equal access to computer science programs, skills and resources that prepare them for college, credentials and career.”
“Access and opportunity should not be a barrier. As a tech employer, industry leader and father, I care both personally and professionally about access to high-quality computer science and technology programs that educate and empower. I am so excited to be a part of the national board of directors for TechCorps to help ensure K-12 students have equal access to computer science programs, skills and resources that enhance early learning and prepare them for college and careers.”
Diversity, equity and inclusion
Hyland is committed to creating a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Our decisions are rooted in support for individuals in our organization and our communities. We value individuality, inviting the different skill sets and viewpoints that diversity brings. Hyland aims to celebrate our people, engage our communities, grow our future workforce and support our customers.

Community engagement
Hyland encourages and empowers employees to support the organizations that mean the most to them. We offer 12 hours per year of paid volunteer time off, nonprofit organization board-matching to help them align skill sets and interests with local organizations, and gift-matching that helps their donations go even further.
The global pandemic hasn’t stopped us from supporting our communities. Hylanders continue to reach out through virtual food drives, donating time and technology skills, making PEP and delivering meals for healthcare workers.
We’re proud of our relationships with programs and organizations that have a direct impact on our communities, including Adopt-a-Family, the Red Cross, United Way, Business Volunteers Unlimited, The Centers for Families and Children and the Cleveland Food Bank.

Annual day of service
Each year, hundreds of Hylanders roll up our sleeves and work together on a large revitalization project. What started at our headquarters in Northeast Ohio has become a tradition at our offices around the world.

Hylanders for Hylanders
We cultivate an environment where employees are family, and we actively engage in their well-being. Through a grant managed by the Emergency Assistance Foundation, this relief fund allows employees to make charitable donations to assist coworkers in times of need.

Hy-5
The annual 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk to benefit MetroHealth is an opportunity for us to get together, be active and support our Cleveland-area non-profit public health care system. In 2020/2021, Hylanders turned the Hy-5 into a virtual challenge that employees completed on their own. We look forward to continuing this event in person in 2022!
