Hyland, a leading content services provider named a Leader in the industry for the 12th straight year by Gartner, has achieved Cross-Border Privacy Rules and Privacy Recognition for Processors certifications.
The two certifications are based on the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Privacy Framework and endorsed in 21 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation members — including Australia, Japan, the United States, Mexico and Canada — to promote responsible transfer of personal information. Certification requires participating businesses to implement data privacy policies consistent with that framework, are assessed by an accountability agent and are enforceable by law.
Other key tenets of the APEC Privacy Framework include:
Risk-based protections
Consumer-friendly complaint handling
Consumer empowerment
Consistent protections
Cross-border enforcement cooperation
Hyland’s certifications are applicable to several products, including OnBase, ShareBase and Perceptive Content, deployed in the Hyland Cloud.
“These certifications further demonstrate Hyland’s commitment to consumer privacy, which has become even more important for our customers recently,” said Will Milewski, Hyland’s Senior Vice President, Cloud Platform Engineering. “This system and our achieving these certifications ensure that we’re not hindered by regulatory differences in our effort to deliver innovative products and services to our customers.”
