Builders Mutual selects Hyland’s OnBase for enterprise-wide content management implementation

Raleigh-based insurer provides commercial coverage to nearly 28,000 policyholders

Builders Mutual, a Raleigh, N.C.-based provider of commercial insurance coverage exclusively for the construction industry, has selected OnBase to assist with its ongoing digital transformation efforts.

Builders Mutual provides services for nearly 28,000 policyholders, and is now partnering with Duck Creek Technologies to deliver enhanced policy, claims and billing platforms. Hyland has long held an integration partnership with Duck Creek, and with OnBase smoothly integrating within the Duck Creek platform, bringing OnBase into the fold was an easy decision for Builders Mutual.

“We sought a solution that met all of our task and document management needs and integrated well within the Duck Creek interface,” said Mike Gerber, President & CEO of Builders Mutual. “Couple those functionality benefits we get with OnBase and the solid reputation of both Hyland and Duck Creek, and we made the decision pretty quickly.”

Builders Mutual’s product lines run the gamut, from workers’ compensation to commercial package, commercial auto, and builders risk. The company said OnBase’s configurability and flexibility were additional key selling points, helping Builders Mutual customize based on need, and organize massive volumes of information from its customers. The company joins a growing group of over 500 insurance companies that have used Hyland’s comprehensive solutions to transform processes that rely on documents, content and people.

“We’re thankful Builders Mutual has placed its trust in Hyland to help make its processes more efficient and to accelerate its digital transformation,” said Ed McQuiston, Hyland’s chief commercial officer. “The value of implementing OnBase in the Hyland Cloud and our integrations with partners like Duck Creek is evident: Our solutions are providing clear results for our customers in the insurance industry.”

Those results lie in the OnBase-Duck Creek integration allowing partners like Builders Mutual to accelerate their digital document strategy by providing a full picture of their customers’ entire history quickly and efficiently right from within their Duck Creek application.

“Our first customer that integrated with Hyland and OnBase came 16 years ago, and since then, we’ve heard repeatedly from our customers that the efficiency OnBase provides, along with the smooth, easy integration, are huge factors,” said Elizabeth Del Ferro, vice president of partner GTM at Duck Creek. “We’re looking forward to implementing the same efficient, easy solution for Builders Mutual so it can reap the benefits as well.”
