What’s New for Higher Education in OnBase 11.0?

OnBase 11.0 is helping colleges and universities attract, accept and retain top students faster than ever before. And with its seamless integration with the school’s student information system (SIS), administrators and IT professionals alike can finally realize real-time information exchanges between SIS and student-serving business processes driven by OnBase.

 

OnBase 11.0 offers new automated transcript capture and transfer credit evaluation capabilities. Colleges and universities can use OnBase to evaluate transcripts on a school-by-school basis, including matching transfer credits with the articulation database and posting data to the SIS or degree audit system. Automated capture of term, course and grade data from paper or electronic transcripts reduces manual data entry of these processes by more than 90 percent.

 

Also available are new data-level integrations with key line of business applications, including student information systems like Datatel and Peoplesoft. These configurable SIS integrations require no custom coding and allow for real-time back and forth movement of data between the applications. For example, now, with OnBase 11.0, when documents and other content are brought into OnBase, the checklist in Datatel can be automatically updated.

 

Finally, with many different departments using one product, it’s important for colleges and universities to use that one product within any browser, an issue that became more critical with the instability of long-term Java support on Mac. OnBase 11.0 offers this capability in its web client so that OnBase users can work in their preferred browser, from Mozilla Firefox to Internet Explorer 9, no matter the operating system.
