What’s new in Government in OnBase 11.0?
As state and local governments continue the quest to increase transparency, give mobile and self-service options and provide faster government with less staff and at a lower cost, OnBase 11.0 is there to help.
Transparency and public records access often competes with the need to protect sensitive and confidential information. Documents which contain sensitive information have previously required hours of manual work to redact, or remove, the sensitive information from the copies made publicly available.
In OnBase 11.0, automated redaction makes this process much more efficient by using optical character recognition technology along with a rules-based engine that can automatically locate and redact certain information on documents. Prior to publishing, these can be presented in a user interface for verification. Where government agencies manage physical records and objects, physical records management has been enhanced to allow activity from other systems to manage the physical records inside OnBase through the use of an application programming interface.
OnBase 11.0 can also support self-service and fee-for-service options with the eCommerce application. This allows clients to purchase documents that reside in OnBase through a website. Documents can be purchased on a "one-off" basis or through the use of a subscription account. Third-party credit card processors are supported out-of-the box to make it easier to quickly deploy this extension of an OnBase solution.
Public works, asset management and GIS solutions are key for cities and counties, and they continue to benefit from the efficiency of linking these solutions to OnBase. OnBase’s ESRI integrations features a new configuration tool that makes deploying an integrated GIS solution even faster. And it supports the latest Esri GIS efforts with out-of-the-box Silverlight sample apps. And, OnBase integration for Cityworks takes advantage of program improvements so that users can easily retrieve OnBase documents from the new Cityworks Mapview, which presents data and maps in a single screen for ease-of-use.
Document composition is a key tool for downsized government organizations and can be used to create letters to constituents. It has a simplified configuration tool that is accessible directly trhough Microsoft Word. This gives any government worker the ability to easily configure templates used to create these documents.
With more than 1,800 enhancements, 4,400 software changes and input from many of our 10,000 lifetime customers, OnBase 11.0 is ready to help your organization become more efficient than ever before.
